JOB FUNCTION:       Government Affairs/Public Relations

SUMMARY:           Develops and manages government relationship, and public private partnership programs; maintain awareness of public policies & initiatives in public health; protects company reputation.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements long- and short-term local and central government relationship and public private partnership plans to meet public health goals and objectives.

  • Develops, establishes key public hospital relationship & partnership opportunities.

  • Develops and implements corporate social responsibility plans consistent with company mission and value principles.

  • Establish plans for responses to manmade crises, major policy changes & natural disasters; and reputational breach.

  • Manages proactive media relations strategy designed to cultivate relationships with targeted media and generate publicity that increases company awareness.

  • Conceptualizes and manages story angles and materials used in pitching targeted media and government agencies.

  • Participates, reviews all press and strategic documents including but not limited to press releases, press kits, articles, case studies, and bylined articles.

  • Manages company press clippings, publication library, and contact database.

  • Organizes, maintains a master calendar of key local and central government, public relations and media events.

  • Identifies new public private partnership opportunities, funding and potential policy benefits.

  • Oversees public private partnership budgets; ensures transparency and adheres to strict compliance and company ABAC policy.

  • Organizes company public events; ensures key stakeholder attendance and visits of company offices and headquarters.

  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops public relations staff; manages schedules and workflow.

  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to performance plans, organizational policies & procedures as well as government regulations; keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or higher education with more than ten years related experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of government regulations and legal compliance.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Chinese); excellent presentation and external engagement skills

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees

  • Strong interpersonal skills to read human behaviors quickly and accurately.

  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all levels and all places.

  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of any organization.

  • Ability to direct and recommend cost-effective creative solutions
